The students have been very active in their learning over the past few months and we’d love for you to have a peek at what they have been working on. Your child’s portfolio, showing samples of their learning to date, will therefore be sent home to you today.
We sincerely hope you are as proud of the work contained in your child’s folder as we are.
Please note that we are unable to replace any part of the portfolio should it become mislaid or damaged. Portfolios should be returned to your child’s class teacher on Monday, 30 October.
Many thanks in advance for your cooperation in this regard.

A little keepsake from your child’s early years at school
During early November, all students will create an individual handprint or self-portrait drawing in class with their teachers. These will then be professionally silk printed onto useable tea towels.
The tea towels are delightful keepsakes to remember the early school years of your child and make excellent seasonal gifts for relatives and friends.
Please click here to complete the form if you wish to make an order. Orders must be received by Wednesday, 1 November. Payment will be paid by Direct Debit Authorisation on 1 December.

Care for All Things Day
We will celebrate Care for All Things at school during 2-5 January 2018. As part of the event we will be encouraging our students to appreciate and care for our natural world.
Today we will provide each student with a seedling to take home and care for. The seedling should be carefully removed from the germination tray so that the roots are not damaged. It should then be transplanted into a small pot so that it will grow bigger. Please follow the steps in the ‘Information leaflet of Yellow Alder’ link below:

Students should take a few photos of their plant as it grows and submit the photos to their class teacher who will include them in our ‘Activity Book’. Students should return their plant to their class teacher between 2-5 January 2018. All plants returned to school will be presented by the students to a local elderly persons home.
We thank you in advance for your support of the children and their learning.

We will be celebrating Halloween as a change of seasons in a cheerful and colourful way in school on Tuesday, 31 October.
The school and classrooms will be decorated with this theme in mind, and we invite all children to come to school on this day in their favourite non-scary Halloween costumes. We will also be organising lots of fun and challenging activities for the students to enjoy together.
The event will be held during regular school hours, and going home times will remain as normal for all students on this day.
Preschool parents are not required to attend this event.
